AiR: Artists in Residence

The mission of the Bay Spring Community Center is “to foster a community spirit and to engage and enrich Barrington by bringing neighbors together through a variety of social, artistic, cultural and educational activities.  We do this by providing and facilitating programs to meet community needs and by providing space for other individuals and organizations who serve the residents of Barrington”.

The BSCC Artist-in-Residence Series is the newest addition to our efforts to achieve our mission. The A-i-R Series creates opportunities for local artists to take up “residency” at the Center with the goal of providing instructional activities in the areas of drama, music, creative writing, poetry, film and photography, print making, STEAM-based activities, etc. Resident Artists also draw upon their own professional network of artists so that they not only conduct programs themselves, but also enlist, curate, and coordinate contributions from other artists as part of their series.

We’re thrilled to announce that our first-ever Artist-in-Residence will be Gary and Annie Deslaurier, who will be conducting STEAM-based Creative Construction and Printmaking activities.

The A-i-R Series is made possible series is made possible by the sponsorships of the Friends of the Bay Spring Community Center, the Town Recreation Department, and the Barrington Public Library.
